2nd Ave

2021 | Completed

1,980 sq. ft. Interior Remodel of an existing single-story residence (3BD/2.5BA) located in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Guests are welcomed by a wall adorned with portions of The Detroit Industry Murals by Diego Rivera. The client, an actor with a love for design and an eclectic style, became his own interior designer and, quite possibly, found a second career. The heart of this home is the kitchen, designed for entertaining, at the center is an island with a built-in dining table, a small bar, ample prep space and built in double ovens perfect for the client’s famous dinner parties. The bathrooms, each one more unique than the last and all created for maximum tranquility. The primary bathroom features a deep tub for ultimate relaxation and an oversized tile shower. The primary suite has a custom open walk-in closet with a privacy screen as a room divider, a large bedroom area with sliders that lead out to a rear deck and sunken in fire pit complete the transformation from, in the client’s own words, “from trap house to ghetto chic” The exterior is inspired by contemporary southern California Spanish style architecture.
